Storwize Volume Protection Time can disrupt FSFC Operations

General Page

Storwize introduced Volume Protection which may disrupt some FSFC operations.
Volume Protection will prevent deleting volumes or changing host connections to them if there has been I/O activity within a specified time period. This feature will be enabled for all new Storwize installations, and when existing installations are updated to a recent firmware level the customer will be reminded to enable and set a protection time. More details are available here:
While the FSFC Toolkit does not remove volumes it may be configured to change host connections and enabling volume protections will cause that to fail. To determine whether the toolkit is configured to change host connections, issue WRKCSE on any controller and take option 16 (change host connections) on each Copy Services Environment.
If any host connections are defined then volume protection must be disabled on the Storwize for FSFC operations to function properly. Follow the directions in the Storwize support page linked above to disable the feature.
