Metadata import that uses Snowflake 3.12.15 JDBC driver fails when driver folder includes Amazon Athena JDBC driver

Troubleshooting

Problem

Importing metadata that uses Snowflake 3.12.15 JDBC driver fails when the drivers folder also includes the Athena JDBC driver. The same issue does not occur with older versions of the Snowflake JDBC driver.

Symptom

The metadata import does not complete.

Cause

The drivers folder in Cognos Analytics includes a copy of the Amazon Athena JDBC driver and Snowflake 3.12.15 JDBC driver.  An import references objects in the Snowflake database, that have an underscore character in their name.

Reference # SNOW-259063

Diagnosing The Problem

Test a connection defined in Cognos Analytics that refers to a Snowflake server. When the test completes, click the feedback which displays the version of the Snowflake JDBC driver.

Confirm if the drivers folder in Cognos Analytics also includes a copy of the Amazon Athena JDBC driver.

Resolving The Problem

Upgrade to Snowflake JDBC v3.13.2.
