Error description
When the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host has multiple possible IP addresses to use, the IP address selected for this host in the Global Preferences GUI panel, which is available starting with version 10.1.6, is not used when registering/updating remote VADP hosts. Upon registration or update, the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host IP address that will be configured in the VADP as seen for the parameter 'RMQ_SERVER_HOST' in the file '/opt/IBM/SPP/config/remote.environment' will be: - the one returned by DNS for the Spectrum Protect Plus host or - the first IP of the the Spectrum Protect Plus host as seen with the linux command 'ifconfig' IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.6 Initial Impact: Low Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, TS004339140, IP
Local fix
Update DNS to return the desired Spectrum Protect Plus host IP. or Act at OS level to change the Spectrum Protect Plus host IP addresses priorities to the one desired. or 1. Run the following command as root or sudo on the Spectrum Protect Plus host : sudo sed -i '12 a Environment=RMQ_SERVER_HOST=<Desired_SPP_Host_IP>' /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/virgo.service 2. The reload the following service : sudo systemctl daemon-reload 3. Then restart virgo : systemctl restart virgo 4. Push install/update the vADP in the GUI to update the vADP configuration to use the new IP.

For level 10.1.8 a change was made to ensure the reach-ability of existing VADPs that is backward compatible.
