Error description

  • VM65943 added minidisk support for extended address volumes
(EAV), 3390-A devices, supporting 28-bit cylinder addresses.
The code in HCPDPV which is used for Diagnose Block I/O
processing for EAV minidisks fails to load an input register
correctly.

Input register that should contain the address of the RDEV for
subroutine BLDEFE is not correctly loaded.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code in HCPDPV has been corrected to properly load the RDEV
input register for subroutine BLDEFE.  For z/VM 6.4.0, this
APAR is only applicable if new function APAR VM65943, CP
Support for EAV minidisk is applied.
