Error Message: The verbose GC log shows GC pauses exceptionally long during GC scavenge. . Stack Trace: N/A .
Local fix
This issue only happens in some corner cases when a running GC thread is stopped by some external factors such as CPU resource shortage. The issue would disappear if the external factors are removed. The issue might disappear if the number of GC threads are decreased.
Problem summary
The problem is caused when a GC thread is stopped, because of some external factors, at some critical moment when last job element has been removed from job list but global job counter has not been decremented yet so other threads still iterating in a search of job.
Problem conclusion
The JVM has been updated that the GC thread decrements global job counter before job element is removed from job list . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR6 FP25 (8.0.6.25) .
