Error description

  • When transaction or compensation recovery logs are stored in
a relational database, a heavy 2PC transaction or compensation
workload results in poor performance die to excessive database
contention in the recovery log component.

    ****************************************************************
When the recovery logs are stored in a relational database,
the recovery logging component suffers from excessive
contention as multiple threads attempt to make database
updates. The work performed against the database is not batched
up efficiently and logging becomes a performance bottleneck.

Problem conclusion

  • The relational database version of the recovery logging componen
was modified to batch work more efficiently when the system is
    under load.
