Impact Assessment
Impact Description

This is a service release of Rational Change. It contains new features as well as fixes for client-reported and internally found defects.

Test Results

Definitions

Regression: An error in the Maintenance Delivery Vehicle (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.
This includes:

  • Coding errors that cause a regression
  • Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression
  • Errors reported in a new function delivered in a MDV that cause a regression

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition

There are no known issues to report.

Change History

What's new
  • Rational Change support for third-party LDAP server management
This implementation provides a solution for the 1500 users issue in RDS for Rational Change, which is, if a Metagroup has more than 1500 users, RDS is failing to display/view and Search the users. Thus, the Authentication and User Preference functionality was added directly to Rational Change It is not exactly alternative for RDS, but we are providing the Authentication and User preference via Rational Change.
Authentication: Provides the user authentication functionality by connecting to the Customers Corporate DS (Directory service), either Apache DS or Active directory or both together.
User Preferences: This implementation provides the capability of storing the User preference in the cache as well as flat file. Currently RDS is storing the User preference.
Migration Tools: Provide migration tools to migrate from RDS to the new implementation.
This implementation provides an option to the customer (applicable for environment where number of users are more than 1500 having login issues with metagroup) to opt for RDS or this new LDAP implementation.
  • Rational Change support for RHEL 7.7 and 7.8
  • Rational Change support for Chrome V86.0.4240.193
  • Rational Change support for Edge V86.0.622.38
Rational Change 5.3.2 which comes bundled with Japanese and Chinese language packs includes the following enhancements:

Dynamic required attribute
The dynamic required attributes feature allows users to mark some of the attributes to be required dynamically when a particular value is selected for another attribute.

Treating numeric fields as integers
Treating numeric fields as integers allows CCM_NUMBER attribute types to be set as integers. They can hold only integer values and users can query on them using mathematical operators. This can be used for queries which need to filter and sort based on criteria.

Database specific Home Pages
Database specific Home Pages allows the users to manage their home page content that is relevant to the database that they log in to.
