Unusual Process Names in tm1server.log

Question & Answer

Question

Unusual process names are appearing in the tm1server.log. They appear to be a type of key rather than a name, for example:
Process "{36b2588f-cdee-4984-8e4f-985431d9ef02}". Where do these come from?

Answer

This type of entry is the logging of adhoc processes being run from Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW). For example, if you right click on a cube and choose "Import Data" to import data from a flat file and do not save the process first, it will be recorded in the tm1server.log as a key rather than a name
