Error description
Browser Firefox 68.0 In cqweb when customer generates a REST URI query to view record. In the generated query when using format XML and recordID of a non existing record, the browser shows error, I have reproduced the issue on my VM using the below example URI. Ex: https://localhost/cqweb/restapi/IBM/TEST/RECORD/{{recordId}}?for mat=XML&recordType=Defect&{{loginid}}&password={{password}} Error: XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </fields>. Location: http://localhost:12080/cqweb/restapi/CC-CQ/CCCQ1/RECORD/CCCQ1000 04020?format=XML&recordType=Defect&loginId=admin&password=&nofra mes=true Line Number 2, Column 118: <cqresponse xmlns="http://ibm.com/rational/clearquest/web/v7.1"> ---------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------^ Is this error expected if you query a non existing record. Should there be a better error message.

Problem conclusion
A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.1.12, 9.0.2.4 and 9.1.0.1. ClearQuest Web will now show a proper error message if the record does not exist in the REST URI for XML,ATOM and JSON format.
