Summary
Netcool WebGUI will support the use of Websphere 9.x beginning with 8.1 FP20. However only the WebGUI 8.1FP20 package for NOI will allow a direct installation. Here is a high level description on how to create a fresh standalone WebGUI 8.1 FP20 installation.
Steps
- From IBM Passport Advantage procure Websphere 9.x and using the IBM Installation Manager install per the product's documentation.
- From IBM Passport Advantage procure JazzSM/DASH 1.1.3.7 or 1.1.3.8 and install per the product's documentation.
- From IBM Passport Advantage procure Netcool Omnibus 8.1 FP18 which is a full refresh installation. Do not install it yet.
- From IBM Fix Central procure Netcool Omnibus 8.1 FP20 which is an upgrade package to be applied on the FP18 refresh package.
- Add both the Netcool WebGUI 8.1 FP18 and Fp20 packages to the Repository in Installation Manager, test the entries and leave both checked.
- In the Installation Manager, go to the Installation section and install Netcool WebGUI.

Additional Information
Because WebGUI 8.1 FP18 requires WAS 8.x as a prerequisite, it will fail Installation on WAS 9.x. However by installing 8.1 Fp18 and immediately applying FP20 to it by having them both checked in the IM repository, the installation will proceed successfully and complete as WebGUI 8.1 FP20.
