Error description

  • ABENDU0790 SC007 due to INUSE not released after a Find or Set
    AULDTERM under the following scenario
Connect to IMS from two dynamic terminals(TCP80120) and
    (TCP80121).
    Logon to first terminal TCP80120
    Issue /FOR IWXADM
    Issue request: FIND qual1: TCP80121
Issue PF9 or /RCL to logoff first terminal...IMS abends with
    U0790-07
Similarly if the FIND is replaced by a SET AULDTERM it will also
    ABEND

Local fix

  • It was noticed that if the logon to the second session is before
issuing the FIND or SET AUDTLTRM command, the second session
does not hang and there is no problem. It is also possible to
logoff the first session without any problem.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: This APAR applies to WLR users on IMS 8.1 *
    * and IMS 9.1 who use the FIND Itermname or *
    * SET AUDLTERM Itermname functions. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABENDU0790 SC007 due to INUSE not being *
    * released after a FIND or SET AUDLTERM *
    * command in WLR under certain conditions *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
If a user issues either the FIND or SET AUDLTERM function via
the WLR Administrative interface (/FOR IWXADM) and then logs
off IMS, the IMS copy will abend with a U0790-07 abend. The
problem occurs because WLR issues DFSFNDST macro calls with
INUSE=YES which marks the block as "inuse" (shared). WLR does
not reset the inuse indicator. When the user logs off, IMS
attempts to lock the block (exclusive). Since WLR has it shared,
    IMS issues the U0790-07 abend.

Problem conclusion

  • WLR has been modified and no longer marks the block
    as "inuse".
