Abstract

This interim fix resolves an issue introduced in IBM Cognos Analytics version 11.0.13 IF1060 and 11.1.7 IF1007 where a report could return incorrect data or an error.

Affected reports involve queries that require joins where the join...
  • may be defined between query subjects in a model or between queries in a report
  • includes a reference to a vendor specific function passing literal (constant) values such as 'ABC', 123
  • and the function is referenced in a detail filter or is part of the relationship (join) definition
Possible side effects are:
1) A column in the report returns the data of another column instead of the expected data.
2) An error about data type incompatibility is thrown, such as:
XQE-GEN-0002 An unexpected exception occurred: com.cognos.xqe.data.values.IntegerValue incompatible with com.cognos.xqe.data.values.IExtract
3) A SQL error about a column name not being valid is thrown. Some examples:
-com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlSyntaxErrorException: "C3" is not valid in the context where it is used
-[Amazon](500310) Invalid operation: column "c3" does not exist in query1, query2, unnamed_join;
4) Local processing may start occurring, which could lead to this error:
XQE-PLN-0098 The vendor specific function "<function_name>" is not supported.

Installation Instructions

The installation process for 11.0.13 has changed, and now uses the same installer as Cognos 11.1.
Please download the "11.0.13_Install_Document" which is available in each of the Fix Central (FC) links in the download section below.
