Error description
You may see the following messages in your CMAS, accompanied by an SVC dump: EYUXL0905E applid AICA IN XCLA, OFFSET 00000678 EYUXL0905E INTC=0079 ILC=2 TXCP=6E8C9800 SCODE=S???? TRAN=XLEV TASK=0012345 EYUXL0905E METHODS=XCLA,TIW2,TIML,XLBI,XLEV EYUTI0003E applid TOPOLOGY INITIALIZATION FAILED. The dump title would look something like this: EYU9XLRV DUMP,applid,cmas,sysid,CMAS,XLEV,0012345,AICA, EYU0XCLA,mm/dd/yyyy,hh:mm:ss This APAR being raised to add points in the topology process that yields back to the QR TCB to avoid the possibility of an AICA.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: While performing a CPSM CMAS WARM * * restart, a CMAS issues message * * EYUXL0905E reporting an AICA abend, * * where method TIW2 is included in the * * method call stack. Subsequently, the * * CMAS issues: * * EYUTI0003E applid Topology * * Initialization Failed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: PH30556 affects CMAS regions performing * * a WARM CMAS restart, and will take effect * * from the next restart. The restarts do not * * need to occur at the same time. * **************************************************************** A CMAS is performing a CPSM WARM CMAS restart. The CMAS is reconnecting to existing data spaces. During the Topology warm restart process, the topology data cache must be re-initialised. Data is temporarily held in a queue, then new cache list structures are created in the topology data cache. For a suitably large CICSplex, the time taken to read from the queue structure and write to the new cache list structure may exceed the CMAS region runaway ( ICVR ) value. If this happens, an AICA abend will occur, and topology initialisation will fail. The CMAS address space will terminate after message EYUXL0112E applid CMAS initialization failed Additional Keywords: TOPWCDTR_QTOKEN EXCPTOPI
Problem conclusion
EYU0TIW2 has been updated to issue a suspend if needed to prevent the system ICVR time from being reached. Additionally, the process of adding records to the new cache list has been made more efficient to reduce the likelihood that the ICVR limit is reached.
