IT34244: VADP PROXY INSTALLATION FAILS WHEN RUNNING AS ROOT AND ROOT DOES NOT HAVE SUDO PRIVILEGES

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the VADP proxy is pushed from the IBM Spectrum Protect
  Plus server to an external host using the root user, and this
  root user does not have 'sudo' privileges, the installation of
  the VADP proxy fails on this remote host.
  The installation
  script does however not report an error and the installation
  seems to complete successful. The VADP proxy is not started on
  the remote host and does not report a status back to the IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus server.
  
  Virgo log shows the following
  when the issue is seen:

  download failed on host(VADP proxy host). Error({})
  com.jcraft.jsch.SftpException: No such file

Local fix

• Enable sudo for the root user on the host where the VADP proxy
  is installed on and try to install the VADP proxy again.

Problem conclusion

• VADP proxy installation no longer fails because sudo was removed
