Cannot open Import Compiled Code Coverage Result dialog when Code Coverage Results view is not opened

Troubleshooting


Problem

The Compiled Code Coverage Results Import dialog cannot be opened from the Eclipse workbench File menu if the Code Coverage Results view is not opened.

Symptom

When the Code Coverage Results view is not opened and you try to open the Compiled Code Coverage Results Import dialog via the main menu bar item: File > Import... > Other > Compiled Code Coverage Data File, the import dialog does not appear, and sometimes the following messages appear in the workspace log:
  • Unhandled event loop exception or
  • java.lang.NullPointerException

Cause

The Compiled Code Coverage Results Import dialog requires that the Code Coverage Results view is already open.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this problem, open the Code Coverage Results view before you open Compiled Code Coverage Results Import dialog:
  1. Navigate to Window > Show View > Other... > Code Coverage
  2. Select Code Coverage Results to open the view
  3. From the Eclipse window, select File > Import... > Other > Compiled Code Coverage Data File
Alternately, you can access the Import Feature directly from the Code Coverage Results view in the Context Menu or the View Toolbar button.
