PH29909: TRANSACTION MANIPULATING A LARGE CONTAINER ABENDS AKEC WHICH IS FOLLOWED BY DFHPG0002 CODE 1920 DFHPI0002 CODE 0508

Error description

• You are running CICS TS 5.5 and receive the following
  Console error messages:
  
  DFHPI0001  An abend (code ---/AKEC) has occurred at
             offset X'7A76' in module DFHPISN.
  
  DFHPG0002 A severe error(code X'1920') has occurred in
            module DFHPGCR
  DFHPG0002 A severe error(code X'1920') has occurred in
            module DFHPGCR.
  DFHPI0002 A severe error(code X'0508') has occurred in
            module DFHPITH.
  
  In MSGUSR you may see:
  DFHDU0203I  A transaction dump was taken for dumpcode: APIL,
              Dumpid: 1/0016, Tranid: tran, Tranum:nnnnn,
              Program: DFHPISN1.
  DFHPI0500  tran The CICS Pipeline Manager DFHPIPM encountered
             an error while trying to link to program DFHPISN1.
             The program abended. PIPELINE: program.
  DFHPI0503  tran The CICS Pipeline Manager has failed to send
             a response on the underlying transport.
             TRANSPORT: HTTP, PIPELINE: program.
  DFHDU0203I A transaction dump was taken for dumpcode: AXMZ,
             Dumpid: 1/0022, Tranid: tran, Tranum:nnnnn,
             Program: DFHXMAB.
  
  DFHAC2236  Transaction tran transaction number nnnnn abend
             AXMZ in program DFHPISN1 term ????.
  
  CICS region has a runaway time ICVR of 1 second.
  DFHPISN had reserved the DFHRESPONSE container and was in the
  process of populating the container when the ICVR timer popped
  and the task abended AKEC.  The problem is, it never did the
  undo of the RESERVE_CONTAINER, which lead to the subsequent
  PG0002 and PI0002 errors.
  
  Additional symptoms: KIXREVDAM
  ABENDAKEC ABENDAPIL ABENDAXMZ
  

Local fix

• To prevent the AKEC, increase ICVR value or specify a larger
  RUNAWAY value on the affected transaction definition
  

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Multiple errors and system dumps occur  *
  *                      when a pipeline task abends during      *
  *                      processing of the DFHRESPONSE           *
  *                      container.                              *
  ****************************************************************
  If a pipeline task is abended due to the CICS runaway interval
  being exceeded and this takes place while the DFHRESPONSE
  container is being created multiple PI0002 and PG0002 errors
  together with system dumps occur. These occur because the
  reserve placed on the DFHRESPONSE container is not released in
  the DFHPISN recovery routine.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been added to the recovery routine in DFHPISN to
  release the reserve.
