Error description
When upgrading to Spectrum Protect server version 7.1.6 in Windows environments the upgrade may reach about 70 percent complete then incorrectly display a message notifying the user the update has failed, the message details will read: Update failed. ERROR: Error during "install" phase: ANRI1020E: The DB2 installation failed. To review errors and correct any issues, review C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs\native\tsm_logs\db2_install.log The db2_install.log will indicate the db2 installation was successful but a reboot was deferred meaning the system would need to be rebooted in order for the upgrade to complete. Look for the following messages inside: MSI (s) (90:78) [21:12:12:861]: Product: DB2 Server Edition - DB2TSM1 -- Configuration completed successfully. MSI (s) (90:78) [21:12:12:861]: Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: DB2 Server Edition - DB2TSM1. Product Version: 10.5.700.376. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: IBM. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0. MSI (s) (90:78) [21:12:12:861]: Windows Installer requires a system restart. Product Name: DB2 Server Edition - DB2TSM1. Product Version: 10.5.700.376. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: IBM. Type of System Restart: 2. Reason for Restart: 1. MSI (s) (90:78) [21:12:12:861]: Product: DB2 Server Edition - DB2TSM1. Restart required. The installation or update for the product required a restart for all changes to take effect. The restart was deferred to a later time. The installation logs located in the "...Installation Manager\logs\native" directory will need to be reviewed. Among the files generated during the upgrade time frame, there will be a log titled "<date>_<time>a.log" which will show a 3010 return code indicating a restart is required: Command: "C:\PROGRA~1\Tivoli\TSM\db2tmp\ESE\image\setup.exe" /f /i en /u "C:\PROGRA~1\Tivoli\TSM\db2tmp\db2resp.tmp" /l "C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs\native\tsm_logs\db2_install.log" stdout: stderr: RC: 3010 The defect was first discovered when upgrading from server version 7.1.3 to 7.1.6 on a Windows 2008 R2 operating system.
