IBM Support

Guardium Supported Platforms for Discovery and Classification

Detailed System Requirements

Abstract

This document lists data sources that are compatible with Guardium discovery and classification processes.

Content

Discovery and classification processes define how Guardium finds and treats sensitive data.  For example, sensitive data includes credit card numbers, social security numbers, and personal financial information.  For more information, visit the IBM Security Guardium documentation website, select a version, and navigate to Discover > Discover Sensitive Data.

Guardium supports some versions of the following data sources for discovery and classification:
  • AWS RDS MySQL
  • AWS RDS PostgreSQL
  • AWS RDS Oracle
  • AWS RDS Microsoft SQL Server
  • AWS MongoDB
  • IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
  • IBM Db2 for z/OS
  • IBM Db2 for i
  • IBM Informix
  • IBM Netezza
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MongoDB
  • MySQL
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • SAP HANA
  • Sybase

Note
Database vendors are continually updating their software, and this makes it difficult to thoroughly validate Guardium support for all releases. As a best practice, we recommend validating discovery and classification functionality with specific database releases in a test environment before deploying to production.
