You cannot use semi-colons (;) in the field 'Password', while creating datasource signon in Cognos Administration

Question

Are semi-colons accepted characters in Cognos datasource signon passwords?  While creating a signon password for Postgres SQL datasource in Cognos Admin, the following message is seen:

Cause

The Classic Admin Portal page blocks the use of semi-colons when creating Postgres datasource signon:

Answer

However, you can use the "Admin Lite" to create the Data Server connection using semi-colon:
