IBM Support

Upgrading to Control Center 6.1.3.0 does not work with a staging database defined in earlier versions

Troubleshooting

Problem

After upgrading Control Center from an earlier release to 6.1.3.0, Control Center will no longer start.

Symptom

See errors in the Engine log;
ERROR CCServerManager - System-defined server group for node type 0 not found!
CCTR142E The Event Processor name has not been properly configured since its location is not set. Please run configCC to configure event processor name.

Cause

Control Center 6.1.3.0 is not currently supporting a Staging Database.

Diagnosing The Problem

Review the ccinstall.log from configCC and the Engine log when trying to start Control Center.

Resolving The Problem

If you have a database that supports partitioning, run configCC and choose the option to partition the database, and remove the staging database by inputting 0.0.0.0 for the staging database host.
You can also just remove the staging database and only have a none partitioned production database and upgrade to 6.1.3.0
If you want to keep the staging database, only upgrade to the latest 6.1.2.1 iFix until a fix can be found for 6.1.3.0
Staging databases allowed in new installs was removed from Control Center in 6.1.0.0
