PH28523: DFHTR0112, DFHIS0002, S0C4, CONNECTIONS IN FREEING STATUS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You are running an IPIC workload and receive messages:
  
  DFHTR0112 Bad data passed for tracing to module DFHTRPT.
  DFHIS0002 A severe error (code X'0206') has occurred
  in module DFHISIS.
  
  Looking at a dump, you find trace entries:
  TR 0102 TRPT *EXC* INVALID-DATA-PASSED
  
  This occurs when a variable used for the data2 field is not
  initialized correctly for this error path, leading to use of
  residual data.  This results in an S0C4 ABEND.
  
  The error path occurs when a bad length is passed for an
  ISSB buffer, possibly as a result of an overlay.  This leads
  to a loop executing beyond its expected confines, holding up
  processing on the QR TCB.
  
  Additional Symptoms:  AZI9 AKC3 IS 0206
  

Local fix

  A path exists in IPIC code where it is possible an attempt
  to write an IS 0206 EXCEPTION trace entry abends 0C4 due to
  a bad pointer value for DATA 2.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHISIS has been modified to prevent the aforementioned error.
