Compile Rhapsody generated code outside of Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

How to use an External Compiler for Rhapsody generated code for example: Microsoft Visual Studio?

Answer

Rhapsody generated code contains references to the Rhapsody framework if its generated using full framework. Whilst using an external compiler we need to ensure the libraries necessary are included along with the include paths for the respective definitions.

Steps:

  1. Create a project in Microsoft Visual Studio
  2. Add Rhapsody generated files
  3. Add the libraries listed in the etc/share for that environment (Attached file contains list of libraries)
  4. Compile and Build

Attached is the sample build in Rhapsody, with a Microsoft Visual Studio project and an Blackberry Flash Player that shows the compilation settings on external compiler. Microsoft was just a sample, the procedure applies to any external compiler.
