Question
On DB2 v9.1, v9.5, Control Center on Windows cannot display chinese characters properly. The chinese characters are displayed as a 'box' like symbol.
Cause
Control Center by default uses the font Tahoma. This font does not support chinese characters.
Answer
To display chinese character, in Control Center, select Tools Settings -> Font tab.
Change the fonts to any of the below that supports chinese characters:
Dialog
SansSerif
Serif
Monospaced
DialogInput
Then restart Control Center.
