SE74004: RDI 9.6.0.8 CL SOURCE FORMATTING MAY ERRONEOUSLY SPLIT OR ADD A CONTINUATION CHARACTER EVEN THOUGH THE LINE MAY FIT

Error description

• When editing CL source using the Remote Systems LPEX Editor in
  Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.8, the CL automatic
  formatting will split long CL commands across multiple lines.
  If the last line for a CL command has content which ends within
  the last five characters available on the line for the file
  record length then it may erroneously append a plus continuation
  character, or split the line; even though the remainder part
  would fit within the last few spaces available.
  

Local fix

• Configure automatic formatting off and manually format the
  lines.

• This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.11 update.
