Error description

  • In ALC Cache mode there may be intermittent cases were a DCB can
not be validated. When this happens, Archive Log Compress will
bypass dataset CLOSE processing and - as a result - DB2 will
fail to archive the log and issue message DSNJ128I.

This APAR will modify the ALC close handler to correctly handle
all condition codes of the TPROT. Specifically, if the TPROT
fails due to a translation failure then ALC CLOSE will add
an 'address validity checking' process to determine if the
translation failure is due to the storage being paged out, or it
if is truly a bad address.
