What are the brief steps to upgrade from IBM Security® Guardium® Version 10.x to IBM Security® Guardium® Version 11.x.

Upgrading the IBM Security® Guardium® Appliances from V10.x to V11.x

1. Create system backup
2. Install the Health check patch 9998 (SqlGuard_10.0p9998_HealthCheck_YYYY-MM-DD) & go through the health_check log file using the fileserver.. 3. The patch SqlGuard-10.0p11001_Upgrade_to_Version_11.0_Sep_2019.tgz.enc.sig installation will take the appliance to V11.0.1. 4. Install the fix bundle/maintenance patches built on top of V11.0

In the case custom partition usage, the upgrade using patch 11001 won't work and possible steps are:
1. Create system backup 2. Rebuild the V10.1.3 appliance using V11.x ISO
3. restore the system backup taken from the step #1.

2. Install the Health check patch 9997 (SqlGuard_11.0p9997_Health_Check_YYYY-MM-DD) & go through the health_check log file using the fileserver.
3. The GPU SqlGuard_11.0p100_GPU_Nov-2019-V11.1 takes the V11.0.1 appliance to V11.1.
4. Install the fix bundle/maintenance patches built on top of V11.1

| Referring the release notes of every patch prior to it's installation is the best practice. |
| You can directly choose to go to the latest GPU (version) of the product and skip the older GPUs. |

Apply the latest available Health check patch 9998 (SqlGuard_10.0p9998_HealthCheck_YYYY-MM-DD) from IBM Support V10 Fix Central on V10 appliance to qualify it for V11.0 upgrade.
