IT32934: DATAPOWER UNQUIESCE LEAVES API GATEWAY SERVICE OBJECT IN DOWN STATE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the DataPower device is unquiesced, the API Gateway
    Service object will fail to come back up and be left in a down
    state.
    
    This happens because the Gateway Peering objects are
    not up yet when the API Gateway Service object is trying to
    come up.
    
    Although the Gateway Peering object eventually comes
    up, the API Gateway Service object stops checking and stays in
    a down state.
    
    The following example demonstrates the state of
    the objects when experiencing this issue:

Local fix

  • Manually toggle the admin-state of the API Gateway Service
    object, by disabling then enabling the object.
    

Problem summary

  • For DataPower user who uses APIC Gateway Service, after the user
     quiesces and unquiesce a domain, the state of APIC Gateway
    Service in that domain doesn't restore to be UP.
    

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • Manually disable and then enable the APIC Gateway Service
    object.
