hexadecimal interruption code 28 is documented as:
    Reserved bit
positions in an access list entry token (ALET) were
    nonzero.

The abend is issued by a STAM in AR mode with a dirty
    access register.

From the dump there are a lot of access
    registers have FFFFFFFF

    Access register values:

     0-3
    00000000 00000000 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF
     4-7 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF
    FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF

    12-15 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 00000000 00000000

Local fix

  • This issue may be caused because a tool like IEAINITREGTASK
diagnostic trap had been run previously, or is in use.

Disable the tool to work around the abend.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When invoking the optimized local adapters register API
BBOA1REG, a STAM instruction in BBOAREG abends with abend code
0E0 reason code 28. BBOAREG is in access register mode when it
issues the STAM instruction. The 0E0 abend reason code 28
happens on the STAM because the corresponding access register
has a bad value. The value of the access register is FFFFFFFF.
The access register is FFFFFFFF because the diagnostic
    TRAP IEAINITREGSTASK is being used.
The abend can also happen in bbgareg, bborhsrm and bboatrup.

Problem conclusion

  • Updated bboareg, bbgareg, bborhsrm and bboatrup to not get into
access register mode when issuing the STAM instruction.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
9.0.5.5. For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
