Troubleshooting
Problem
You are running an application server in 64 bit-mode and are using either SDK Version 6 SR3 or SDK Version 6 SR4. After you enabe the Verbose JNI option for this application server, attempts to restart the application server fail.
Symptom
After you enable Verbose JNI for an application server that is running in 64-bit mode, you cannot restart the application server. When you check the native_stderr.out file for that application server, you see the following warning message:
JVMJ9VM011W Unable to load jclfoun10_24: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
Unhandled exception
Type=Segmentation error vmState=0xffffffff
Resolving The Problem
If the administrative console is still available, which it might be if the application server is federated to a deployment manager, use the administrative console to disable the Verbose JNI option on the server:
- In the administrative console, click Server > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
- Select the application server that is not starting and then click Java and Process Management > Process definition > Java Virtual Machine
- Under Additional Properties, clear the Verbose JNI option.
If the administrative console is not available, edit the server.xml file for the application server that is not starting and change the value of the verboseModeJNI property to false.
