  *                 the program contains an intrinsic function   *
  *                 invocation with an argument that is a        *
  *                 numeric expression containing at least one   *
  *                 COMP-2 operand.                              *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: INCORRECT OUTPUT: A loss of accuracy in *
  *                      the result of the intrinsic function    *
  *                      computation.                            *

  The code generated by the compiler for the intrinsic function
  computation was inadvertently truncating the 128-bit
  intermediate floating point result of the argument expression
  to a 64-bit floating point value.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to avoid truncating the numeric
  expression result to a 64-bit floating point value when
  ARITH(EXTEND) is in effect.
