Error description

  • SF Case# TS00372145
In a "normal" DPL case where program A sysid A links to program
B in sysid B which in turn links to program C in sysid C this
function works correctly in that the value returned in
INVOKINGPROG in sysid C is the name of the program in sysid B
In a daisy chaining case where program A sysid A links to
program B in sysid B and the program definition points to sysid
C the value returned is DFHMIRS and not the name of the program
issuing the original DPL request in sysid A.

This may well be working as designed but it does make problem
determination difficult both for the customer L2 and L3.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS ASSIGN INVOKINGPROG returns *
    * DFHMIRS when a DPL request has been *
    * daisy chained across multiple CICS *
    *                      regions.                                *
    ****************************************************************
When a DPL request is daisy chained EXEC CICS ASSIGN
INVOKINGPROG returns DFHMIRS and not the name of the program
issuing the EXEC CICS LINK PROGRAM command in the originating
    region.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been added to propagate the name of the original
program if the current program is DFHMIRS.
