APAR status

Error description
Client is using autodeploy with property files. The deployment itself is successful but the mapping the application to the web module and session management is not being set to memory to memory. The properties file based configuration (PFBC) currently only supports an application configuration (ApplicationConfig) that contains the session manager object but it does not support its child attributes such as Tuning Params, DRSSettings, SessionDatabasePersistence and Cookie objects. They are currently only supported under the WebModuleConfig object. It is the reason those sub-sections are missing in the properties file when they extract the application using the PFBC extractConfigProperties command to extract the application. The APAR is opened to add other Session Manager's attributes (subsections) to our application template file so they can be extracted and applied when using the PFBC or monitored deployment service to deploy or update an application.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Auto-deploy with properties file * * does not set the session management * * attributes properly * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When using the properties file based configuration (PFBC) to deploy an application with the property file, the deployment is successful but the application mapping to the web module and session management attributes are not set properly. Some child attributes of session management (sub-sections in property file) such as Tuning Params, DRSSettings, SessionDatabasePersistence and Cookie will not be set during deployment.
Problem conclusion
The properties file based configuration (PFBC) currently only supports an application configuration (ApplicationConfig) that contains session manager object but it does not support child attributes such as Tuning Params, DRSSettings, SessionDatabasePersistence and Cookie objects. The APAR updates the existing application property file template to support application deployment contains session manager object and child attributes. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.12 and 8.5.5.8.
