Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Enterprise COBOL V5 users running COBOL V5   *
  *                 programs that are statically called by       *
  *                 assembler programs (that have the LE CEEPIPI *
  *                 CALLSUB) and also statically CALL assembler  *
  *                 programs under LE pre-initialized            *
  *                 environment.                                 *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect output due to the runtime     *
  *                      incorrectly re-initializing the         *
  *                      WORKING-STORAGE data items. This        *
  *                      problem occurs only when the COBOL V5   *
  *                      program is statically linked with the   *
  *                      assembler program which starts the LE   *
  *                      pre-initialized environment. The        *
  *                      problem doesn't occur if the COBOL      *
  *                      program is loaded and then call.        *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply provided service.                      *

  COBOL V5 program running under LE pre-initialized environment
  using CALLSUB may reinitialize the WORKING-STORAGE section in
  every call.
  

Problem conclusion

• The COBOL runtime library is fixed to handle CEEPIPI CALLSUB
  correctly.
