APAR status

Error description

  • The z13/z14 specific implementations of UNSTRING and TABLE SORT
provided by the z/OS v2.3 level of the run-time may not be
appropriately used by a COBOL v5.x caller.

Local fix

  • Compile with v6.x

Problem summary

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

The version of the runtime routines optimized for the newer
hardware architecture is invoked incorrectly, causing
subsequent execution time errors.

  • The COBOL Runtime Library is fixed to invoke the correct
version of the routines.
