  *                 RTEREUS runtime option, and have customized  *
  *                 the IGZERREO CSECT with REUSENV=OPT.         *
  *                                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Performance: The REUSENV=OPT setting in *
  *                      the IGZERREO CSECT does not affect      *
  *                      Enterprise COBOL V5 program execution,  *
  *                      resulting in an unexpected performance  *
  *                      degradation.                            *

  When the RTEREUS runtime option is in effect, the Enterprise
  COBOL V5 runtime failed to take into consideration the REUSENV
  setting in the IGZERREO CSECT, and as a result, always invoked
  the LE ESPIE RESET routine each time the COBOL environment is
  reset. Upon reentering the reusable environment, an ESPIE SET is
  done to prepare for a running LE environment. This ESPIE
  SET/RESET each time a COBOL program is run has a significant
  impact to the overall execution performance.
