APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a dynamically called COBOL subroutine, which is statically
    linked with another COBOL subroutine, is CANCELed, an s0c4
    exception may occur.
    

Local fix

  • In the Bind step of the statically linked programs, concatenate
    the object of the ENTRY routine first in the SYSLIN statement.

    During CANCEL processing, the COBOL Runtime inadvertently freed
    storages allocated to the program before all CANCEL processing
    had been completed.

Problem conclusion

  • The CANCEL processing in COBOL Runtime has been corrected to
    free storages in the proper sequence.
