APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When upgrading to IBM API Connect version 2018.4.1.10 using the
Windows Installation tool the upgrade will fail with the install
not starting up.

Local fix

  • Use Linux or OSX Installation tool.
If you've already installed using Windows to get the system to
startup copy the apiconnect project folder to a Linux or OSX
device and run the command
apicup subsys install  --no-verify

Problem summary

  • The install of / or upgrade to version 2018.4.1.10 of API
Connect appliances fail.
The syslog on the appliance may show errors such as:
"Error reconciling subsystem: unable to install subsystem:
unable to read values file: open
/var/lib/apiconnect/subsystem/values/apic-analytics.yml: no such
file or directory"

Problem conclusion

  • Fix is targeted for inclusion in API Connect 2018.4.1.11
