Error description

  • The fix is to provide for a more graceful shutdown of PODs in
certain situations - namely for database updates that are part
of a transaction, if the pod is shutdown via kube "drain" or
other scale down mechanism.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • apim pods were not catching SIGTERM so when a k8s worker node
was drained or apim pods scaled down due to hpa, the pod
shutdown was not graceful, potentially leaving cassandra locks,
etc. in place.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Fix is targeted for API Connect v2018.4.1.11
