Error description

  • After you upgrade the Oracle JDBC driver from ojdbc7.jar to
ojdbc8.jar and try to run the Relationship Manager, the
Relationship Manager fails and you might see the following error
     in the SystemOut.log file:

    com.ibm.wbiserver.relationshipservice.util.ArtifactLoaderUtility
    createRuntimeSchema(<ApplicationName>) CWLAE0005I: An exception
was encountered when the relationship service code was
    executing.

In addition, FFDC records might be written that contain stack
    traces like this

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • This issue occurs because the ojdbc7.jar JDBC driver returned
the SQL datatype DECIMAL for a column definition like
NUMBER(10,0) whereas the ojdbc8.jar JDBC driver returns the SQL
    datatype NUMERIC.
