Release Notes
Abstract
This document describes late-breaking issues for IBM® Planning Analytics 2.0.
Content
IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel - interoperability limitations
- Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel does not support Cognos Analytics/Business Intelligence in the initial Planning Analytics 2.0 release.
- Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel supports only the Planning Analytics 2.0 TM1 Server.
- Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel and Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel cannot both be installed on the same machine. If you need to use both direct TM1 and Cognos Analytics/Business Intelligence on the same machine at the same time, you should not upgrade to Planning Analytics 2.0 until Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel has been updated to support Cognos Analytics.
- Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel and TM1 Perspectives should not be installed together if you are using TM1 formulas in Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel because of possible conflicts in formula resolution.
- Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel cannot be installed with Cognos for Microsoft Office 10.2.2 or earlier. This is because Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel and Cognos for Microsoft Office share an interface layer, and changes made in that interface layer to support Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel are not compatible with any current Cognos for Microsoft Office versions.
IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel - security modes supported in Planning Analytics Workspace
IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel supports security modes 1,2,3,4 and 5. However, Planning Analytics Workspace supports only security modes 1 and 5.
Currently, you can only connect to Planning Analytics Workspace URLs. If you need to connect to Cognos Analytics/ Business Intelligence data sources, or connect using security modes 2,3 or 4, do not upgrade.
IBM Planning for Microsoft Excel - 'Registering libraryTM1.xll' message
The message “Registering libraryTM1.xll” shows at the bottom of Microsoft Excel until IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel is launched. This is a known issue and does not indicate any problems.
IBM Planning for Microsoft Excel - extra processes created in TM1Top
When a user logs in to Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel, three processes are created in TM1TOP. However, all these processes are canceled when the user logs out of Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.
TM1 Architect/Perspectives - Max Connection setting must be 3 or greater
In Architect or Perspectives, on each server that a user can access, set the Max Connection setting to 3 or more, otherwise, the user cannot log into the server successfully.
1. In Server Explorer, right-click on the Server and select Security > Clients/Groups.
2. For each user, set Max Connections to 3 or more, and click OK.
TM1 Web - Publishing to TM1 Web with Latin characters
When you publish a workbook to be opened in TM1 Web, there is limited support for Latin character sets in folder, file names, and server names. Umlauts can be used for folder and file names, but other Latin characters might cause an error message to appear. If this happens, try republishing using English characters for the workbook. You may also need to rename the folder or server name.
TM1 Web - list of Microsoft Excel-supported functionality by menu in IBM Cognos TM1 Web
You can view a detailed list of the Microsoft® Excel functionality that is supported in IBM Cognos TM1 Web version 10.2.2 and later at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27042154.
TM1Web-UrlAPI using Cognos BI and CAM does not open workbook as expected
When a Cognos-BI-Url that integrates the CAMUsername and CAMPassword plus the TM1Web-UrlAPI is used, an empty page is shown instead of the expected workbook. To resolve this issue, the 10.2.2 BI updater kit must be installed from Fix Central. Also, you must add the following line to the Variables_TM1.xml file in BI:
<url is-regex="true">http://<hostname>:9510/tm1web(/\([aAsS]\([A-Za-z0-9]+\)\))?/UrlApi.jsp(\?.*)?(#.*)?</url>

Upgrade to Planning Analytics Workspace Local 2.0.29 Linux fails
After upgrading from some older versions of Planning Analytics Workspace Local to version 2.0.29, Planning Analytics Workspace fails to start. This occurs only when applying an upgrade on a Linux system.
For a resolution to this issue, see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27050833.
Docker Toolbox prerequisite for Planning Analytics Workspace Local on Windows
Planning Analytics Workspace Local on Windows requires Docker Toolbox version v17.06.2-ce. All newer versions prevent Planning Analytics Workspace Local from starting. This applies to installing Planning Analytics Workspace Local on a Windows system only, not Linux or Windows Server.
