Abstract
This document provides information about how to locate and install interim fixes that are available for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 on distributed operating systems.

Interim fixes provide corrective service for specific known problems.
There are several interim fixes that are available for WebSphere Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 running on WebSphere Application Server Version 8.0.0.0. You can use IBM Installation Manager to update the product with the interim fixes.

For a list of interim fixes that are available for WebSphere Application Server Version 8.0.0.0 and specific information about each interim fix, perform the following actions:
- Go to Fix Central.
- Select WebSphere as the product group.
- Select WebSphere Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0 and Mobile as the product.
- Select 1.1.0 as the installed version.
- Select your operating system as the platform, and click Continue.
- Select Browse for fixes, and click Continue.
- Click More Information under each interim fix to view information about the interim fix.
- Recommendation: Make a list of the names of the interim fixes that you would like to install.
Access the live service repository that contains the interim fixes, and use web-based updating |
You can use Installation Manager on your local system to update WebSphere Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 with the interim fixes from the live web-based repository at the following location:
http://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.websphere.WEB2MOBILE.v11
Tip: For the live service repository, you can use the same URL as the one used for the generally available product-offering repository during installation. This URL is based on the following pattern:
http://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/offering_ID
where offering_ID is the offering ID that you can find in the table of offerings in WebSphere Application Server Version 8 product offerings for supported operating systems.
To install an interim fix from the service repository, perform one of the following procedures:
To install an interim fix from a service repository using the command line, perform the following actions: |
- Log on to your system.
- Change to the Installation_Manager_binaries/eclipse/tools directory, where Installation_Manager_binaries is the installation root directory for the Installation Manager.
- Install the interim fix:
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris:
./imcl install interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
-repositories repository_URL
Windows:
imcl.exe install interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
-repositories repository_URL
Tip: Installation Manager Version 1.4.4 and later provide an -installFixes option for the imcl install command that allows you to specify the installation of all fixes, all recommended fixes, or no fixes. For information on how to use this option, read the Installation Manager Information Center.
- Optional: List all installed packages to verify the installation:
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris:
./imcl listInstalledPackages -long
Windows:
imcl.exe listInstalledPackages -long
To install an interim fix from a service repository using the Installation Manager graphical user interface (GUI), perform the following actions: |
- Start Installation Manager.
- Make sure that the Search service repositories during installation and updates option is selected on the Repositories panel in your Installation Manager preferences.
For more information on using service repositories with Installation Manager, read the Installation Manager Information Center.
- Click Update.
- Select the package group to update with the interim fix, and click Next.
- Select the interim fixes to install, and click Next.
Any recommended fixes are selected by default.
If there are recommended fixes, you can select the option to show only recommended fixes and hide non-recommended fixes.
- Review the summary information, and click Update.
- Click Finish.
- Click File > Exit to close Installation Manager.
Download the files that contain the interim fixes from Fix Central, and use local updating |
You can download files that contain the interim fixes from Fix Central. Each compressed interim-fix file contains an Installation Manager repository for the interim fix and usually has a .zip extension. After downloading the interim-fix files, you can use one of the following procedures to update WebSphere Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 with the interim fixes:
- Use Installation Manager to update WebSphere Application Server for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 with the interim fixes.
- Use the IBM Packaging Utility to generate a new repository that contains all of the interim-fix files that you downloaded, then use Installation Manager to update WebSphere Application Server for Web 2.0 and Mobile Version 1.1.0 with all of the interim fixes as a group. For information on using the Packaging Utility, read the Installation Manager Information Center.
- Go to Fix Central.
- Select WebSphere as the product group.
- Select WebSphere Application Server for Web 2.0 and Mobile as the product.
- Select 1.1.0 as the installed version.
- Select your operating system as the platform, and click Continue.
- Select Browse for fixes, and click Continue.
- Select the interim fixes that you want to download, and click Continue.
- Select your download options, and click Continue.
- Click I agree to agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Download now to download the interim fixes.
To install an interim fix from a downloaded compressed file using the command line, perform the following actions: |
- Log on to your system.
- Change to the Installation_Manager_binaries/eclipse/tools directory, where Installation_Manager_binaries is the installation root directory for the Installation Manager.
- Install the interim fix:
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris:
./imcl install interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
-repositories compressed_file
Windows:
imcl.exe install interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
-repositories compressed_file
- Optional: List all installed packages to verify the installation:

To install an interim fix from a downloaded compressed file using the Installation Manager GUI, perform the following actions: |
- Start Installation Manager.
- Add the location of the interim-fix file that you downloaded to your Installation Manager preferences.
- Click Update.
- Select the package group to update with the interim fix, and click Next.
- Select the interim fixes to install, and click Next.
Any recommended fixes are selected by default.
If there are recommended fixes, you can select the option to show only recommended fixes and hide non-recommended fixes.
- Review the summary information, and click Update.
- Click Finish.
- Click File > Exit to close Installation Manager.
Tip: You can also install interim fixes using silent response files with Installation Manager. For information on creating and using response files, read the Installation Manager Information Center and the WebSphere Application Server Version 8 Information Center.

You can uninstall an interim fix using the command line by performing the following actions:
- Log on to your system.
- Change to the Installation_Manager_binaries/eclipse/tools directory, where Installation_Manager_binaries is the installation root directory for the Installation Manager.
- Uninstall the interim fix:
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris:
./imcl uninstall interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
Windows:
imcl.exe uninstall interim_fix_name
-installationDirectory product_installation_location
