This document describes how to download installation images for IBM Spectrum Protect™ for Virtual Environments Version 8.1.0.

Maintenance Packages via PTF Distribution Web Site
(Data Protection for VMware and Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V)

All IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.0 maintenance packages can be accessed using the PTF distribution Web site.

However, these PTF packages require an existing V8.1.x installation on the machine before applying them because the PTF maintenance packages do not contain the license enablement files required for use of the component. If this is your initial installation of a IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments component on a machine or VM, you should obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online Web site.

Download Package

The HTTP link in the Download Options column below directs you to the Passport Advantage Online Web site. Passport Advantage is a secure Web site that requires an account ID and password. It has all of the component and platform images associated with IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.0 available for download.

You can locate images on the Passport Advantage Online Web site by using the part number as the search query. For example to locate the IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware use as search query CMNFP3ML for Windows and use CMNFP4ML for Linux.

The FTP link in the Download Options column provided below is to the top level directory that contains this Fix Pack. The subdirectory structure separates the Fix Pack images by operating system platform, then by available Fix Pack version.

Reminder: These images available via the Data Protection for VMware Maintenance Packages link do not contain license enablement files. You must already have a base level package installed in order to use these packages.
