Abstract
This document describes how to download IBM Streams Developer Edition Version 4.2, and the optional IBM software that is included with the product.
Download Description
IBM Streams enables you to capture, analyze, and act on business data from a broad range of sources. Using real-time analytic processing (RTAP) technology, IBM Streams can continuously analyze massive volumes of streaming data in real time, with extremely fast response times. In addition to reporting changes in data, IBM Streams can notify users and systems of data changes, and take specific actions to respond to those changes in real time.
You can use IBM Streams to develop and run applications that process information in data streams. You develop your streams processing applications in the IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) and in other supported languages, such as Java, Scala, and Python. To simplify application development, IBM Streams provides the IBM Streams Studio integrated development environment (IDE) and toolkits that extend the functionality. The IBM Streams runtime system enables you to run your applications on a single resource or a distributed set of resources.
System and operating system requirements
All IBM Streams hosts must run a supported version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Note: For the most current information about system and operating system requirements, see the IBM Streams system requirements web page.
The following table lists the supported operating system versions on x86_64 and IBM Power Systems.
Table 1. Supported operating system versions for IBM Streams
Operating system | System hardware and architecture | Supported operating system versions |
---|---|---|
RHEL | x86_64 (64-bit) | Version 6.6, or later Version 7.0, or later |
IBM Power Systems (64-bit) IBM Streams supports the POWER8 processor (little endian) | Version 7.1, or later |
