Known Side Effects
Open defectsReview the following list of open defects for Rational Functional Tester on the IBM Support Portal. Review technote 1461170: Open APARs for Rational products available on the Web for information on how to configure your MyNotifications subscription account and subscribe to the APARs you are interested in following. Known LimitationsAdobe Flex supportTesting Flex applications is supported only on 32-bit browsers. Testing Flex applications is not supported on Mozilla Firefox 17.0 and above or on Google Chrome . While taking a data verification point on multiple selected elements of a Flex list control, all the selected values are not picked up. Insert Test Object does not work for Flex and SparkFormControl. It is not possible to play back actions that are recorded on the vertical scroll bar of a SparkList. Microsoft Silverlight support:Rational FunctionalTester supports recording Silverlight applications only on 32 bit Internet Explorer. Microsoft .NET 4.5 supportRecording actions on the drop-down list of a RibbonFilterMenu is not supported. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate supportThis limitation only applies to 64-bit version of Windows. If you face any errors related to the loading of the package while creating a project in Rational Functional Tester, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Integration, use the following workarounds: Download and install any missing dependencies (for example, msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll). Then, create a project. For details, see the technote: Rational Functional Tester integration with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 does not work as expected. PDF 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0 file testing supportWhen you record on the Reader toolbar buttons in Adobe Reader 10.0 and 11.0, the action is recorded as click(atPoint(x,y)). When you record on a PDF file that is opened in a Mozilla Firefox browser, you must first record actions in the browser and then begin the recording on the PDF file. Playback fails when only the find() API is used to locate objects. As a workaround, click the captured object first and then play back. In Rational Functional Tester Microsoft Studio Integration, the PDF crashes during the playback, following a few clicks. Other limitations and workaroundsIf you are using JRE 1.6 Update 17 or later, and you want to open the Verification Point Comparator from the detailed playback log of a script that was played back from Rational Qualiy Manager, you must disable the next-generation plug-in on the workstation where you are opening the Comparator. There is a defect where Chrome version 42 blocks the Java plugin. As a result, an additional configuration step is required to continue using NPAPAI plugins. For more information, see technote 1883446. To enable Google Chrome for testing, the extension must be installed from the Chrome Web Store. For more information, see technote 1699063. IBM JRE 1.7 and Sun JRE 1.7 are supported on Mozilla Firefox 3.6 - Mozilla Firefox 17 ESR, only if the test environment is enabled automatically. From Mozilla Firefox 18 onwards, this is not a limitation. Currently, Rational Functional Tester supports Mozilla Firefox up to version 41. With version 42 and above, RFT becomes unresponsive during recording and playback when Firefox was enabled through RFT. For more information, see technote 1973233. Testing with Google Chrome requires a 32-bit Oracle JRE. For more information, see technote 1973262. Although Rational Functional Tester 8.6.0.7 supports 64-bit installation, integration with ClearCase only supports 32-bit integration. While using Kerberos authentication mode in the keyword view, the OK button is not always enabled if the configPath is not specified. In this case, you can just enter a |
