1.0 General description
=======================
This fix provides tolerance support for the OnCommand Unified
Manager (OCUM) 6.x environment.

2.0 Enhancements
================
With OCUM 6.x, NetApp has changed the way of monitoring the storage
resources.

- If you work in the OCUM 6.x environment, then read the "2.1
Prerequisites" section for information about version compatability,
agent configuration, and the supported and unsupported attributes.

- If you work with the Data Fabric Manager 5.x or earlier, then you need
not read the information that is mentioned in the "2.1 Prerequisites"
section.

2.1 Prerequisites
-----------------
- To monitor the performance counters, you must configure the
OnCommand API Services with the OCUM and Performance Manager.

- To obtain performance data from the OnCommand API Services,
the configured user must be of the type "administrator" or
"monitor". These user types have default permissions to execute
the rest API.

- Versions of the OnCommand API Services, OCUM, and the
Performance Manager must be compatible.
For example, to configure API Service V 1.0, pair OCUM
V 6.2, 6.1, or 6.0 with Performance Manager V 1.1.
For compatible product versions, see the interoperability matrix tool:
http://mysupport.netapp.com/matrix/#search

Note: For more details about installing and configuring the
OCUM, OnCommand Performance Manager, and the
OnCommand API Services, see the Installation and
Setup Guide of the respective component.

2.1.1 Configuration values
--------------------------
For both local and remote configuration, you must provide the
configuration values for the agent to operate. Use the following
values to configure OnCommand API Service (Data Source):
- Server (KNU_API_SERVICES_HOST_ADDRESS)
The host name or IP address of the NetApp API services
server.
- User Name (KNU_API_SERVICES_USERNAME)
A user name on the OCUM API services server that has
sufficient privileges to collect monitoring.
- Password (KNU_API_SERVICES_PASSWORD)
The password for the user name in this section.

3.0 Architecture and prerequisites
==================================
For information about the operating system certification, see
the IBM Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR):
http://www-969.ibm.com/software/reports/compatibility/clarity/index.html

3.1 Prerequisites for this fix
------------------------------
The prerequisite level for this fix is as follows:
- IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments NetAPP Agent,
version 7.2 Fix Pack 3.

4.0 Image directory contents
============================
This fix image contains the following files:

- 7.2.0.3-TIV-ITM_NETAPP_IF0001.README - This ReadMe file
- 7.2.0.3-TIV-ITM_NetApp-IF0001.tar.gz - Fix archive .gz format

Note: The content in the .gz files are identical for both the operating
systems. Same installer will work for windows and non-windows operating
systems.

The fix archive file contains the following folders:
agent
app_support

5.0 Installation instructions
=============================
Use the following steps to install this fix.

5.1 Before installing the fix
-----------------------------
- The prerequisites listed under section 3.1 entitled 'Prerequisites
for this fix' must be installed before installing this fix.

- For the purpose of this ReadMe, the symbol <CANDLEHOME> is the
IBM Tivoli Monitoring installation directory. The default value
for CANDLEHOME is '/opt/IBM/ITM' on UNIX systems and 'C:\IBM\ITM'
on Windows systems.

5.2 Agent and Application support installation and configuration
----------------------------------------------------------------
For information about agent installation, configuration, and application
support, see the 'Agent installation and configuration' chapter of the
IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Virtual Environments Agent for NetApp
Storage Version 7.2.3 User's Guide.

6.0 Additional installation information
=======================================

6.1 Installation instructions for agent baroc file
--------------------------------------------------

There are no updates to the baroc files included in this fix or
any of the superseded fixes. No additional installation steps are
required.

6.2 Verifying the update
------------------------
1. To verify that the agent was updated correctly, use the tacmd
command to view the current version of the agent after the agent
is restarted. You need to log in to a Tivoli Enterprise
Monitoring Server before viewing the agent version.

For example:
On UNIX systems, where $CANDLEHOME is the IBM Tivoli Monitoring
installation directory. The default location is '/opt/IBM/ITM'.

> $CANDLEHOME/bin/tacmd login -s <server>
-u <itmuser>
-p <password>
> $CANDLEHOME/bin/tacmd listSystems -t NU

On a Windows system, where %CANDLE_HOME% is the IBM Tivoli
Monitoring installation directory. The default location
is 'C:\IBM\ITM'.

> %CANDLE_HOME%\bin\tacmd login -s <server>
-u <itmuser>
-p <password>

> %CANDLE_HOME%\bin\tacmd listSystems -t NU

Note:
- The component (-t) for the tacmd listSystems command is
specified as two characters (NU), not three characters (KNU).

When the agent is updated, the agent version will be:
07.20.03.01

2. To verify whether the agent support files were updated correctly,
use the "kincinfo" command on Windows systems or the "cinfo"
command on Linux or UNIX systems. The following sample output
shows the versions of the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server,
Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server, or Tivoli Enterprise Portal
Desktop systems after this fix is applied.

On UNIX or Linux systems:
-------------------------
To validate that all components are installed, run the
following command:

./cinfo -i

On Windows systems:
-------------------
To validate that all components are installed, run the
following command:

%CANDLE_HOME%\InstallITM\kincinfo -i

For example:
> %CANDLE_HOME%\InstallITM\kincinfo -i
