Abstract

SupportPac CA1J consists of a utility that enables MVS Batch Pipelines to access CICS function by running an EXCI Connection to a CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) region.

SupportPac CA1J enables the results of a CICS distributed program link (DPL) program to be returned from a CICS TS for z/OS region and accessed within a Batch Pipeline Stage.

It contains an Exec that acts as a Batch Pipeline Stage that runs the EXCI Connection and manipulates Input and Output Streams to run the DPL action.

Possible uses
This SupportPac can be used to incorporate CICS-sourced information into Batch Pipe processing.

Prerequisites

This SupportPac requires CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.1 or later. It cannot be used with earlier releases of CICS.
