How to publish the available inventory by subtracting the onhand safety factor of the item from the total available onhand quantity rather than subtracting the safety factor for every node

Question & Answer

Question

How do you publish the available to sell inventory by subtracting the onhand safety factor of the item from the total available onhand quantity rather than subtracting the safety factor for every node where Available to Sell = (Total Supply - Demand - Onhand safety factor of the item) in IBM Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Suite?

Cause

Safety stock is set at item and node level in the product

Answer

Example Scenario:
Available to Sell = (Total Supply - Demand - Onhand safety factor of the item)
There is an item (say ItemA) with onhand safety factor as 20 set at the item level(ItemList/Item/InventoryParameters/@OnhandSafetyFactorQuantity).
This item is available in 5 different stores and each store has 20 qty of supply;
Total onhand qty across 5 stores is 20+20+20+20+20 = 100.
Currently RTAM publishes Available to Sell as 0 as it is subtracting safety factor for each store.
However , RTAM needs to publish available to sell as 80 i.e., 100-20(safety factor of the item)

Safety stock is set at item/node level in the product OOTB.

You can configure different safety factors for different nodes from:
Catalog Management-Products-Node Item Attributes-Node Override values for Item Safety Factor.

OR

You can implement the getDemandCorrections/getAvailabilityCorrections user exit as a custom solution to meet your requirement.
