IBM Guardium: Data source does not utilize the schema field when it's being used for an external feed

Question & Answer

Question

How can I get Guardium to send data to the schema in the data source for my external feed?

Cause

You created the DB2 table in the schema defined in the data source. The insert is not using this schema. It's being attempted in the default schema, the schema of the user name.

Answer

Guardium is using the default schema. It is not using the schema specified in the data source. This is a limitation of Guardium for external feeds.

An RFE has been submitted to have the external feed use the schema in the data source.

This can be worked around in a couple ways.

1. Change the user name. You may be using a user where you do not want to use its default schema, e.g. the instance user.

2. Create an alias in DB2 so that the original table has an alias to a table in the desired schema.
