Using a command with “-D” flag to import CA certificates into Cognos Analytics gives a "CAM-CRP-1202 Unknown flag: -D” error

Question & Answer

Question

Why does a command with “-D” flag to import CA certificates into Cognos Analytics give a "CAM-CRP-1202 Unknown flag: -D” error?

Cause

-D flag is not supported in Cognos Analytics

Answer

The “-D” flag was used in previous versions of Cognos (8.4.1, 10.1, 10.1.1, 10.2, 10.2.1) to specify a key store location while importing CA certificates into Cognos. However, this is no longer supported in Cognos BI 10.2.2 and Cognos Analytics.

For example, the following was the command to import CA certificates into Cognos on a Linux machine:

ThirdPartyCertificateTool.sh -T -i -r
CA_certificate_fileName -D ../configuration/signkeypair -p password

In Cognos Analytics, the above command should be:

ThirdPartyCertificateTool.sh -T -i -r CA_certificate_fileName -p password

The -D flag and it’s parameter should be removed in order to resolve this issue.
