Perform a Rebase and Reindex for IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next

How To

Summary

How to perform a Rebase of IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DN) and Reindex the Lifecycle Query Engine (LQE) index in IBM Jazz Reporting Service (JRS)

Objective

There are times the LQE index has to be reindexed to resolve problems.  For the DN data source, you require a rebase of the data source. This document is to give the steps required and provide links to additional information.
NOTE: A full TRS Rebase can take a long time to process. Open case with IBM Support to discuss other options before proceeding.

Steps

  1. Rebase the data source:
For the IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next data source, you must perform a TRS 2.0 rebase before indexing.
    1. Browse to 'https://<Server>:<port>/rm/admin#action=com.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.web.trs'. You need to be an administrator.
    2. Click TRS 2.0 Full Rebase.
Wait for the operation to complete before you proceed. This step might take some time depending on the data size. Reindex the RM data source only after the rebase operation completed.
To monitor the performance of the rebase see: How to check the status of a Tracked Resource Set (TRS) rebase in IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next

  2. Reindex the LQE index:
    To reindex a data source
    1. Open 'https://<Server>:<port>/lqe/web/admin/data-sources' and click the TRS feed name in the list.
    2. Click Reindex.
Note: Depending on the amount of data, indexing for the first time or reindexing a data source can take a long time.

If you think the reindex is likely to take a number of days, you need to review the steps detailed in this document

  3. Refresh the Metamodel
A metamodel refresh is scheduled to occur twice a day. Typically 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM Server time.
